When setting up your first survey, it's crucial to tailor it to your specific requirements. By customizing your survey, you can make it visually appealing and engage your audience effectively. Furthermore, incorporating logic into your survey ensures that questions are displayed based on specific responses, maximizing efficiency.

Create your first survey

Once your account is set up, you will see the Create new survey button. Choose the method that works best for you:

  • If you create a survey from scratch, you can add all questions via Add new question or Add question from the library button.

  • If you decide to start from a template, please take a look at the next steps in our article about the templates library and AI templates library.

  • Import questions you prepared before.

We offer four survey types:

You can learn more about our question type, action screens, and customization options in our article.

Style and design your survey

Survicate offers customization options to enhance the appearance of your surveys, engage your audience, and gather valuable insights. To customize your survey to the next level, you can add a picture to your survey questions, design a background, color a button, answer, etc.

  • Add images to surveys - you can do this in two ways: upload the picture from your device or add an image with an HTML tag.

  • Add an introduction text to your question - a great way to provide context and background information to your survey questions. It can help respondents better understand the purpose of the survey and the specific question.

Set up survey logic

Survey logic allows you to customize the survey experience based on a participant's previous answers. For example, you can use survey logic to show or hide specific questions based on a participant's previous responses. This helps to create a more personalized survey experience for participants, leading to higher response rates and better-quality data.

In Survicate surveys, you can add Branch logic, Display logic (on some subscription plans), or both, to your questions.

Learn more about logic here.

Preview your survey

Survicate offers a preview mode that allows you to see your survey, along with logic, design, etc., as your customers will see it on desktop and mobile devices.

If you prefer to test the survey live, you can set it live/implement in your app or website as you would for 'real' respondents, and answer it. The test responses will count towards your subscription limit. You can later delete the test responses from the Analyze tab so they don't influence your survey results.

Enable integrations

Integrations offer a direct connection between Survicate and your CRM, offering a real-time sync of survey submissions to your preferred tool.

While they are optional, we encourage you to make the most of them.

Some of our most popular integrations, like Intercom, Salesforce, or HubSpot, update user profiles and instantly let you know if a customer is happy or unsatisfied so that you can take the appropriate action.

If you'd like us to notify the responsible team when a respondent answers your survey, enable Slack or Email Notifications.

If you prefer to receive all feedback in one place, feel free to enable the Google Sheets integration or create a custom setup with Webhooks.

Launch your first survey

Launching your survey type is an easy process that will help you collect feedback from your target audience. With the proper planning and preparation, you can create a successful survey launch and achieve your desired results.

💻 Website survey

You must install the tracking code to set up a website, in-product survey or use the Feedback Button.

Putting the code on the website is very easy and totally safe.

There are a few options to install the tracking code:

Test the survey on different browsers and devices to ensure it's working properly for all users.

📩 Email survey

If you need assistance sharing surveys through different platforms, our articles will help you: Gmail, Messaging platforms, and Social media platforms.

📱Mobile survey

Survicate Mobile SDK is supported for iOS, Android, React Native, Flutter, and Unity applications.

To run surveys inside the mobile app, install The Survicate SDK in the native app code. Please ask your developer to do it, providing them with this documentation:

💬 Intercom survey

You can create and share a survey directly via Intercom Messenger so that the entire survey is completed within the chat. This lets you engage your customers and keep them inside your app during the survey process.

You don't need to install any code for this type of survey.

🚀 Braze in-app survey

Choose the survey's audience and other targeting conditions in Braze.

Then, launch your Braze in-app message survey by setting it up in the Traditional Editor or the Drag-And-Drop Editor.

Both methods allow you to show the survey in your preferred spot on the website.

Analyze your feedback

A survey's Analyze tab

After your survey starts collecting responses, you will see them immediately in the Analyze tab of the survey.

The Analyze tab shows you Overall results with statistics and over-time data, as well as Individual responses to look into each survey submission in detail.

Insights Hub

To obtain even more comprehensive feedback, we recommend syncing survey responses and data from other sources to the Insights Hub, where they will be automatically analyzed, segmented into Insights, and categorized into Topics:

Dashboards

If you wish to combine responses from multiple surveys or visualize feedback from the Insights Hub, try Dashboards!

Using a Dashboard lets you visualize trends and statistics, and later download them as presentation-ready charts to share with your colleagues.
