Notifications update you right after someone finishes the survey – we will send you an email with responses and the contact information of your respondent in real time.
Notifications help you act on the feedback immediately, for example when someone reports a problem with your website.

 💡Tip: We recommend integrating them with your helpdesk, to keep all your tickets in one place!

Depending on the survey type you are enabling the notifications, the steps will be different. Please chose which survey type you'd like to enable the integration for:

  1. How to enable for a link, email or website survey
  2. How to enable for a mobile app or Intercom messenger survey

1. Go to the Connect tab of your survey, find, and pick Email notifications from the list of integrations.

2. Click the Connect button to set up.

3. Move on to the Settings tab of Email notifications integration, and pick which notifications you'd like to receive:

💡 Tip: You can have multiple notifications enabled at the same time.

Send emails when a contact form is submitted

We will send an email notification when someone submits a response to your contact form.

Enable the Send emails when a contact form is submitted toggle, and type in the email address you'd like to receive the notifications. You can include more emails by clicking ➕Add new email button.

Send emails after survey is completed

To received an email when someone completes your survey, enable Send emails after survey is completed toggle and type in the email address you'd like to receive the notifications. You can include more emails by clicking ➕Add new email button.

❗️If you select "A survey is completed in full" we only send the notification when the final step of the survey is completed. If some of the questions are left - we will not be able to send an email. However, you're still able to analyze the responses given in the Answers section of your survey.

Send a custom notification

You can receive notifications only when a specific condition is met on your survey. For example, you can choose to receive email notifications only if someone responds to your NPS as a detractor.

Enable the Send emails when a contact form is submitted toggle, and type in the email address you'd like to receive the notifications. You can include more emails by clicking ➕Add new email button.

Then pick the condition you'd like to receive the notification. You can pick a response to a question, or a custom attribute. you can include multiple conditions by clicking ➕Add new button. If you have more than one condition, we'll trigger the email when both of these conditions are met.

How to edit notification template

1. You can alter the notification email content from Edit notification template button.

2. You can add different variables to your notification email using ➕ Add variable button. You can add variables to both email subject and body.

3. When you are ready with your template, save it by clicking update button

Enable for a mobile app or Intercom messenger survey

You need to enable Notifications for every survey separately. Go to Survey Settings > Email Notifications.

1️⃣ There you can fill in the email we should send notifications to. You can include more emails by clicking "add email". Moreover, the email addresses don't have to have an account in Survicate to receive notifications.

2️⃣ You can choose to send notifications either after every response to your contact form question or after every survey completion.

❗️If you select "A survey is completed in full" we only send the notification when the final step of the survey is completed. If some of the questions are left - we will not be able to send an email. However, you're still able to analyze the responses given in the Answers section of your survey.

3️⃣ You can adjust the email content by adding different variables to your notification email using ➕Add variable button.

Available variables are:

  • Survey name
  • Available contact information
  • All answers to the survey
  • Answer to a particular question in the survey
  • Respondent custom attributes

Once you're ready, click on Enable button and get ready to receive the feedback on your mailbox.
