This article will guide you through creating your first survey.
Read on if you'd like to know the difference between ready-to-use templates and creating a survey of your own. You'll also get to find out about the different types of surveys.

Step 1. Choose a survey type
In the main dashboard, click on the Create new survey button.

Decide how you'd like to distribute the survey. Select the survey type you need, so it has a yellow frame and a tick icon.

You can find a brief description of our survey types below.
Email or shareable link survey: Get shareable surveys links or embed surveys directly inside emails.
Website or in-product surveys: Run targeted surveys on websites or in-product.
Mobile app surveys: Collect feedback from mobile app users inside iOS or Android apps.
Intercom Messenger surveys: Survey users directly via pop-ups launched from Intercom Messenger.
❗️Please note it's not possible to change the survey type once it's created.
Step 2. Start survey creation
Pick how you'd like to continue creating this survey. There are two options to choose from. You can either set up a survey of your own (start from scratch) or select a survey from our templates library (start from template).

Selecting a survey from the templates library is great if you're looking for survey inspiration. Suppose you're still a bit unsure as to who to survey and which questions to ask, feel free to choose from a wealth of templates we provide.
Step 3. Add questions and design survey experience
If you decide to create a survey from scratch, you can add all questions via Add new question button and choose the right question type from the list.

Type in your question, answers and introduction. You can change the order of questions by dragging them into another spot or duplicate and remove them after choosing the three dots icon:

Step 4. Send out or launch your survey
