The Survicate Agent brings Survicate into your Slack workspace. Mention @Survicate in a channel to ask about your feedback, check survey results, or work with your Research Hub, without switching tabs.
The agent can:
answer questions about your survey responses and Research Hub data, with links to the source feedback,
find surveys and questions across your Workspace,
show survey results, such as response counts, CSAT %, scores, and averages, with an optional date range,
search research notes and save new ones to your Research Hub,
list and read Research Projects, and start new ones,
archive surveys.
💡 The agent uses the same tools as the Survicate MCP. See the full list of features here.
📌 The agent works on your behalf. Each person connects their own Survicate account, and the agent only returns surveys, folders, and Research Hub data that this account can access. Notes and Research Projects you create from Slack are saved under your name.
In this article, we'll describe how to enable and make the most of the Survicate Agent in your Slack workspace.
Connect the Survicate Agent to Slack
Setup has two parts. A Survicate Owner or Admin connects the Workspace once (steps 1–4), and then each teammate connects their own account (step 5).
1. Go to Integrations and find Slack:
Click the Connect button to set up the authorization:
2. A pop-up window will appear for you to log in to your Slack account.
If you don't see the pop-up window, you may need to allow pop-ups in your browser. Please look for the settings in your browser's URL bar, or follow the instructions for Chrome, Firefox, or Safari.
3. To connect Survicate to Slack, your Slack workspace admin will need to approve the notifications from Slackbot. They should see such a request:
4. Go to the Settings tab to Enable Survicate Agent in Slack.
You also have the option to Dismiss the Terms of Service; in this case, the feature won't be enabled.
5. To use Survicate Agent, you need to connect an individual Slack account to Survicate. For that, your Slack admin has to "allow" your teammates to connect Survicate to Slack. Once allowed, each teammate can connect their individual accounts.
🚀 All done! You can now use the Survicate Agent in Slack.
Use the Survicate Agent in Slack
Now that you've connected your account, here's how to make the most of the agent.
1. In Slack, go to a public or private channel.
You can use the options below:
a. Type: “@Survicate How can we improve our app?”
The first time this prompt is used in this particular Slack channel, you will be asked to add the Slackbot to the channel:
This prompt will return and publish an answer visible to everyone in the Slack channel.
b. Type: “/Survicate How satisfied are our customers?”
This prompt will return an answer that is visible only to you and let you choose whether to publish it to the channel or dismiss it:
c. Click three dots next to any message in the channel ➡️ Ask Survicate:
A new pop-up window will appear, where you can either adjust the question or submit it:
This prompt will return an answer that is visible only to you. You can then choose whether to publish it to the channel or dismiss it.
What you can ask
Besides open questions about your feedback, try:
"List our active surveys and their response counts."
"What's our CSAT for the Onboarding survey in the last 30 days?"
"Find notes in Research Hub mentioning pricing."
"Save this thread as a note in Research Hub."
"Start a research project: why do trial users churn?"
"Archive all surveys with 'Test' in the name."
❗️ Archiving skips surveys that are still collecting responses unless you explicitly include them. Including one stops it from collecting. You can unarchive surveys only in the Survicate panel.
The Survicate Agent's responses include references to the feedback they present, so you can check out the particular survey answers or notes that answer your questions:
2. Go to Survicate ➡️ AI Chat to see the queries that you’ve asked in Slack, along with the responses that you saw in Slack as well.
AI Chat shows the first and last name of the person who asked the question in Slack.
FAQ
Can teammates without a Survicate account use the agent?
No. Each person needs their own Survicate account connected to Slack. The agent only shows data you can access in Survicate.
Why can't the agent find a survey my colleague can see?
The agent uses your permissions. If you don't have access to a folder or survey in Survicate, the agent won't return it. Ask your Survicate Owner or Admin for access.
Do I need to reconnect Slack after the update?
To use the agent, yes. Survey notifications and Slack reports keep working without reconnecting.
Can the agent send surveys to respondents?
No. It can't launch surveys or send them to respondents.
