Running surveys on your website allows you to collect feedback from your visitors directly, understand their behavior and motivations and find out how they respond to your content or offer - they help you understand why visitors behave as they do.
Having doubts? Putting the code on the website is very easy and totally safe.
Do I need to install the code to launch my survey? 🤔
If you are planning to launch a website or a web app survey, or the Feedback Button, you will need to install the tracking code. For other survey types (email and mobile) you can proceed without installing the code.

Install tracking code
- Where to find the Tracking code?
Go to Settings > Tracking code
2. How to put it on the website?🔧
- If someone else is managing your website, you can send them an email with instruction
- If you use Google Tag Manager you can use our one-click installation available in your account or find Survicate plug-in inside GTM.
- Wordpress users - you can use our plugin 🔌
- You can also install the code via Segment integration
None of the above? See instructions below 👇
Manual tracking code installation
- Copy the tracking code:
In the Tracking Code page, copy Survicate tracking code you can find under Manual Installation. The first and the last line of code are just comments, and they won’t impact the execution at all.
2. Paste the tracking code to your website
You need to paste it into the code of your website pages. Our suggestion is to add it to your website template so that it automatically goes into each page of your site. The general recommendation is to insert the tracking code at the bottom of the <body> part.
3. Your Survicate Tracking Code is now installed.
Once you have added the Survicate Tracking Code to your site, you will need to wait a few minutes for your surveys to appear.
Installing ID capture
ID tracking enables you to associate respondent ID in Survicate with user ID they have in your app. To track your app's user ID, you have to install an additional tracking code on your website.
To find this code, go to Settings⚙️> Tracking Code and scroll down to Identify your respondents section. Modify the 'your user ID here
' and paste the code on your website right before the standard Survicate tracking code.
❗️Your developer has to modify the code with proper values in order to work correctly.
📌You can include more attributes to this code and target your visitors using these attributes (more information here).
Check if your code is installed properly
In order to check if you need to do two things:

_svc
If the code is installed properly you should receive a message with your workspaceKey
When you see the red error message, it means that you need to try installing it once again.
