Are website surveys visible to visitors using ad-blockers?

Why ad-blockers and privacy browsers can stop surveys from appearing

Written by Vlada

Ad-blockers and privacy-focused browsers can prevent Website or in-product surveys from showing to some of your visitors.

Why surveys may not show

Ad-blockers (such as Adblock or uBlock Origin) and privacy-focused browsers (such as Brave with Shields turned on) block third-party scripts that appear on public filter lists, such as EasyPrivacy. The Survicate script is a third-party script, so these tools can block it before it loads. When that happens, the survey isn't displayed to that visitor.

This isn't specific to Survicate. The same settings usually also block:

  • Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, and Google Ads scripts,

  • session recording tools,

  • live chat widgets,

  • other feedback and survey tools.

Who is affected

Only visitors who use an ad-blocker or a privacy browser with blocking turned on are affected. Everyone else sees your surveys as usual.

Troubleshooting

My survey doesn't appear when I test it on my website

Check whether you have an ad-blocker, a privacy extension, or browser tracking protection turned on. Disable it for your website, or test in a different browser.
