How to inform respondents about AI follow-ups
AI follow-up feature involves sharing respondent data with an external service; it’s important to inform participants about your privacy policies and how their data will be used before they answer such questions.
When you enable AI follow-ups for the first time, we’ll show you a notification to remind you of this responsibility.
You can achieve it using one of the below methods:
1️⃣ Including a link to your privacy policy in the survey’s welcome message.
2️⃣ Provide a brief explanation in the introduction to your text question:
or as a part of the question:
❗️Remember to make the question optional, so respondents can skip (by clicking the Submit button) it if they choose not to proceed with AI-powered questions.
3️⃣ Incorporating a consent checkbox or disclaimer within the survey itself or within your question.
Provide a disclaimer explaining that the AI tool is used for personalized questions;
if they don’t agree, they can skip this question by clicking Submit without answering.

4️⃣ Use logic to display questions based on user consent.
Start with a single-choice question asking if the respondent agrees to proceed with an AI-powered next question or prefers simple ones.
Create 2 similar text questions with AI follow-up and without.
