Collecting survey feedback is invaluable for businesses, but manually transferring data can be cumbersome. The Survicate and ActiveCampaign integration eliminates this hassle by seamlessly creating new contacts from survey submissions.

What you will find in this article:

  • how does this feature work

  • how to set it up

  • where you can find new contacts

Step 1. Connect Survicate with ActiveCampaign

For this feature to work, you need to remember that Survicate must be connected to your ActiveCampaign account. If you're not sure how to do it, check our article.

Step 2. Create a survey and enable the 'create new contacts' feature.

Create your survey of any type, and make sure to add the 'contact' form question. It is required to add this question, as this will be the source of the email address that will be added to your ActiveCampaign account as a new contact.

❗️Remember to mark the email field as required in the contact form question.

Once you do it, go to the Connect tab, and search for the ActiveCampaign integration. There, you will find the Create new contacts option, make sure to enter and enable it:

As you can see, there are two additional options for this feature:

  1. When a new contact is created, automatically add it to a specific ActiveCampaign list - the contact will be added to any contact list of your choice.

  2. When a new contact is created, automatically add it to specific ActiveCampaign automation - the contact will be added straight to the marketing automation you already have. For example, you could have new leads receive a welcome message immediately.

You can always test the integration by clicking the 'try it out' button. This way a test contact will be created in your ActiveCampaign base so you could make sure it works as intended:

Step 3. Send the survey and receive new contacts

You have already connected your ActiveCampaign account and configured your survey. Now it's time to launch it and start collecting responses. You can share it the very way you like, e.g., via email, link, or on your website.

Whenever the contact form question is submitted, Survicate will send information to ActiveCampaign and create a new contact. It will be visible right after the response is submitted.

New contacts can be found in the ActiveCampaign account under the Contacts tab.

Whenever you will not be sure if the contact was created using the 'contact form' question in your survey, you can click the contact to see more details.

There, on the right side, you will see the Recent activities panel, where you will see a short note that the contact was added from your particular campaign:

FAQ:

  1. I've connected the integration, but new contacts aren't created.
Make sure you have marked the 'email' field in your contact form question as required. Otherwise, the integration won't work.

  2. Does the 'contact form' question have to be at the survey's beginning or end?
It's best to place it at the beginning, before the questions that should be mapped to Survicate.
