Survicate's integration with ActiveCampaign lets you translate survey responses into actionable insights.

By assigning tags based on survey answers, you can trigger automations in ActiveCampaign, ensuring timely and personalized follow-ups.

In this article, we'll go through the process of setting up such an automation step by step ๐Ÿš€

Step 1. Create a survey

Create your Email or Shareable link survey, add your questions, or use a survey template. You can add survey logic and customize your survey to match your brand.

Next, in the Configure tab, select ActiveCampaign so your respondents will be identified, and allow the survey to be taken multiple times from the same browser, let's say every month or every quarter:

It's possible to use the ActiveCampaign integration with other survey types or with an Email/Shareable link survey sent via a tool other than ActiveCampaign, as long as respondents are recognized by their email addresses.

Step 2. Tag respondents in ActiveCampaign

Go to the survey's Share tab and select ActiveCampaign:

Open the Send tags section, and select which question from your survey should send tags to ActiveCampaign when answered by respondents:

Decide what tags should be added to the ActiveCampaign user profiles for each of the answer choices, and click Test integration to make sure everything works as expected:

Now that the integration is set up, we can create the automation in ActiveCampaign.

Step 3. Create an automation in ActiveCampaign

In your ActiveCampaign account, enter the Automations section and click Create an automation. Feel free to select any available template, but you can start from scratch if you want to build up the flow yourself.

Next, you need to select a trigger that will start your flow.

In this use case, we want to trigger a follow-up action when a user has been tagged after answering a survey. Please click on Add a start trigger:

and search for Survicate surveys tag is added:

Once you select your trigger, provide the necessary details in the pop-up window - you can decide if the automation should be triggered when the tag is added from a specific survey, or any of your surveys.

Enable advanced segmentation and set which assigned tag should trigger the automation.

You can also set up additional conditions:

Click Save.

Now, select the follow-up action that should take place after the Survicate tag is added:

It can be any action that you wish to be triggered, such as:

  • subscribe respondents to a newsletter list when they expressed such interest in the survey;

  • send an email to respondents who answered the whole survey, to provide them with a discount coupon for your store;

  • wait for a month, and send an email with another survey, to measure how the sentiment changes over time;

  • send an email to unhappy respondents to offer help or ask for more feedback.

Lastly, activate your automation in the top right corner:

All done!

Now, responses will come in automatically, and you can analyze feedback directly in Survicate ๐Ÿš€
