Tracking and targeting logged-in visitors

ID capture is a feature which enables you to associate respondent IDs in Survicate with user IDs they have in your app. What does it mean for you?

  • You can create audience segments of logged-in users and customers or decide to target only those visitors whose identity is unknown.
  • User ID will be displayed in CSV and XLS reports in the same row as all respondent’s data and answers – thanks to that you can learn who gave what answers to your survey.

How to enable ID capture?

If you installed our tracking code manually, by pasting it right before the </body> of your website, you’ll need to slightly modify the code. To do that, open the account settings menu in the upper-right corner of the app, click on the Installation and enable the Track logged-in visitors checkbox just below the code. You’ll see a small change in the code which points where you should add the modification.

If you installed Survicate using our platform-specific solutions (Google Tag Manager, WordPress, Shopify and more), look for a field for ID tracking and further instructions in settings of your plugin or tag.

If you’re not sure what to do with the code, please contact your developers or the person responsible for the installation. Do not paste this version of tracking code into your website’s code without required modifications.
